Turmeric is a perennial plant that grows in Asia. It's the roots - or rhizomes - that are used. Les 2 Marmottes travelled all the way to India to find the plants needed for our detox infusion. In India, the bright colour of turmeric brings luck, and thus a spot of it is placed on the foreheads of newborns.

Along with its many benefits, it also provides a lovely colour. It's used in cooking to give a beautiful yellow-orange colour to certain exotic dishes and of course for its intense peppery and muscat taste.
We couldn't have curry without turmeric, which gives the characteristic colour to this spice blend that is used around the world.
The challenge for our brewmasters was to find a way to cut the hard turmeric 'fingers' into 1.5 mm pieces, the size of the 'teabag cut', which maximises the spread of its flavour and beneficial properties in the hot water.

The root is processed whole in our workshops, which gives our house infusion its beautiful orange colour.
