We know about Chai latte!
The meeting of black tea, spices, and milk: that's what a Chai Latte is.
Consumed for over 5000 years in India, chai has the spirit of a masala (which means "mixture" in Hindu): an original combination of spices, plants and roots in which the flavors intermingle to give a unique taste!
From one region to another, from one chai tea lover to another, the variations of flavors and nuances of spices will not be quite the same... And that's also what makes Masala Chai tea so magical: it reinvents itself with every sip!
With ours, on the other hand, there are never any bad surprises: black tea, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom, a hint of licorice and cloves... Spices and everything!
In its milky version, we let the charm work: with oat milk, almond milk... Hot or iced, there's something for everyone! But we prefer its coconut version, super delicious and enveloping.
This Tea Latte recipe is suitable for vegetarians and people with lactose intolerance, as it uses plant-based milk.
For a vegan or vegan-friendly latte, replace the honey with coconut blossom sugar or brown sugar.

Coconut Chai Latte Tea Ingredients:
- 3 bags of Les 2 Marmottes Strong Spiced Tea
- 250 ml coconut milk
- 1 tsp honey
- Nutmeg
- 2 to 4 cubes of candied ginger (according to your taste)
Preparation of spiced and coconut milk latte tea:
Preparation time: less than 10 minutes.
- Heat the coconut milk with the honey and nutmeg.
- Infuse the tea directly into this hot milk for 6 minutes, covered.
- Thread the candied ginger cubes onto a small wooden or metal skewer to make a skewer.
- Remove the tea bags and froth them.
- Pour into a cup, add the candied ginger skewer.
The little extra tip
If all these spices haven't yet finished tickling your taste buds, a hint of lime zest at the end will add that final touch of spice we love so much!
How to choose the right plant-based milk for the right latte?
Every plant-based milk has its own unique character. So, when it comes to creating the perfect latte, it's all about taste, texture... and clever pairings.
Here's a little guide, terrier-style, to help you find your way around.
Our advice from a seasoned marmot: experiment, taste, but above all, enjoy yourself!
Almond milk
Delicate & discreet, for a light and refined latte.
- Taste: light, a bit toasted
- Texture: fluid, little foam
- Perfect with: Citrusy black teas, such as Earl Grey, or floral blends
Rice milk
Soft and slightly sweet, we love it for zen and balanced recipes, where the milk is there to accompany without dominating.
- Taste: Naturally sweet, almost vanilla
- Texture: light, watery
- Perfect with: jasmine green tea, floral infusions or Asian-inspired lattes
Oat milk
Creamy & comforting, it's the king of homemade lattes (it makes a great foam!)
- Taste: sweet, slightly biscuity
- Texture: creamy, foams very well
- Perfect with: vanilla tea or with very gourmet blends

Coconut milk
Round, enveloping...It's a milk that we avoid with teas that are too "delicate"
- Taste: more pronounced, exotic
- Texture: very creamy (especially in the full-fat version)
- Perfect with: spicy blends, such as Strong Spiced Tea, or sweet and savory recipes
Hazelnut milk
A touch of praline and indulgence for a “spread” effect
• Taste: intense, very fragrant, with a real praline note
• Texture: light to medium creamy
• Perfect with: tea or a cocoa infusion for a real moment of pleasure!
