Linden

Just because it's 30 metres tall, it doesn't mean that the linden tree looks down on us! A common sight in Europe, it grows in a wide variety of areas, including fields and even gardens! Its benefits have long been recognised. Yes, the linden tree loves us, and we'll explain why.

What are the benefits of linden in infusions?

Linden is impressive in both size and the range of its traditional uses.

Sleep, stress, anxiety, digestion, constipation, headaches, colds, aches and pains: this larger than life tree is almost everywhere in the medicines of old!

Herbalists use the sapwood, the part between the bark and the trunk of the tree, but above all its flowers and bracts (the leaf-like part of the flower).

It is hard to imagine that this tree, which is often seen on roadsides, in parks, fields and gardens, is capable of such great things.

And there's good news for the little ones too, linden is suitable for the whole family.

What kind of linden is used in Les 2 Marmottes infusions?

With its imposing stature, large, light green, heart-shaped deciduous leaves and regular yellow flowers, the linden tree is easily recognisable.

At the burrow, we're all about the bracts. From the beginning of summer, our brewmasters are on the alert: this is when the precious flowers hanging from their bracts are harvested.

As bees have great taste, they also tend to flock to them for nectar (and maybe they also enjoy the benefits of linden blossom... who knows?).

In which recipes do our brewmasters use linden?

The linden tree has a well-deserved place in several of our recipes!

Our essential linden herbal tea is your opportunity to discover this green giant's subtle honey-flavoured leaves!

As part of a trio in our Mint-Linden-Verbena tea, it once again titillates your taste buds with its delicately flowery, sweet flavour.

But linden has also found its way into in our famous Marmot Herbal Tea: a cocktail of 7 cult plants!

And because this big tree also has the power to help the little ones get a good night's sleep, linden is the main ingredient in our Yodie herbal tea.
