What are the benefits of lemon in infusions?

A major natural remedy, lemon has found its place in our daily lives. Its strong point? Its high vitamin C content.

Keep your distance, colds and flu, super lemon has your back! With its energetic and vitamin-packed side, lemon helps us fight infections.

And as life is well done: the lemon is at its best in winter , precisely when we are feeling really down.

But its benefits don't stop there: citrus fruit also has the power to calm rheumatism thanks to its alkaline effect. As a gargle, lemon juice is also used to soothe sore throats, gingivitis, and even canker sores.

It can also be applied directly to the skin in cases of acne, insect bites, sunburn, or warts. In short, it's definitely worth having a lemon (an Opinel knife and a citrus press) on you at all times!

What lemon peel is used in Les 2 Marmottes infusions?

Just saying its name makes us cringe! The lemon, whose sunny yellow color recalls the sweetness of the south, belongs to the citrus family .

It grows on a lemon tree, a thorny shrub with evergreen foliage. Native to India and China, the lemon tree was first considered an ornamental plant in gardens: it was there to look pretty and that's it! It was only much later that it became an ally of gourmets who fell under the spell of its legendary acidity (we thank from the bottom of our hearts the first person who had the courage to bite into a lemon!).

If the lemon took to the water, it was first with sailors who used it to avoid vitamin C deficiencies during long sea voyages (the lemon then had the reputation of fighting scurvy!). Cultivated in Europe from the 2nd century, it is now widespread everywhere where the sun shines and its use has multiplied.

Our master infusers have made a habit of finding the Citrus Lemon. This medium-sized tree has the particularity of blooming several times a year. When it's time to harvest the lemon, nothing is thrown away, everything is used! On one hand, its juice is pressed. On the other, its bark is collected, dried, and crushed. Once it arrives at the burrow, it is worked and mixed with other plants to add a little pep to our infusions.

This is what we call a zero-waste fruit! Once in the bag, its lemony taste, acidity, and intensity never go unnoticed! With lemon peel, there's nothing to throw away, nothing to add, and especially no added flavors !

In what recipes do you use lemon peel?

Who says lemon, obviously says tea! The recipe, dreamed up straight from the burrow, blends black tea , green tea , and lemon. It's intense, it's full-bodied, it's fresh, it's lively: in short, this Lemon Tea is sure to blow your mind.

Its taste marked by the Dolce Vita has inevitably given our master infusers ideas for gently sunny recipes.

What are the benefits of lemon in infusions?

Les 2 Marmottes infusions with lemon peel will give you a remarkable boost to face the winter.

Early in the morning or in the middle of the day, whether lightly or intensely lemony, lemon peel herbal teas tickle the taste buds, refresh the mind and invigorate from head to toe.

With their strong character, they help us see things more clearly from the first sip! But beyond the good dose of spice it brings to our recipes and its subtly tangy flavor that is recognizable among a thousand, lemon helps to avoid many pitfalls.

This is what makes it a super fruit and this is why our master infusers don't give lemon any quarter!

How to use lemon to improve digestion?

While it's known for helping us banish winter infections, lemon can also soothe our stomachs, improve our digestion and reduce bloating!

In this case, it is better to use the juice of a lemon at the beginning of the day and at the end of a meal to detoxify the liver and cleanse the digestive system.

As you will have understood, lemon really has everything going for it!
