Even though they're often under (hot) water, our master brewers hate it when a project falls through. When we told them we wanted to dedicate an article to draining infusions , they jumped right in. Because beyond the great taste of their infusions, what they love most is when they do you good! When should you drink a draining tea ? What are the benefits of draining infusions ? They answer all our questions pronto.
Did you know that our body is composed of approximately 60% water? Water, the true fuel of the human body, does almost all the work : it regulates our temperature, facilitates blood circulation, aids digestion, promotes cell renewal (for beautiful skin!), and helps eliminate toxins.
Because we don't necessarily realize it, but our body is constantly producing and storing toxins. Depending on what we eat, the emotions we experience (stress, fear, anger, anxiety, depression), and where we live (if there's a lot of pollution, for example), they tend to take over our bodies.
As life goes, our body will quickly put a stop to it and do everything it can to get rid of it.
Certain organs, such as the kidneys, will be responsible for filtering and eliminating these famous toxins. This is called drainage.
The first piece of good news is that drinking water will naturally help your kidneys eliminate waste. The more water you drink, the harder your kidneys will work! They will eliminate metabolic waste and toxins while retaining essential mineral salts. For your kidneys to function properly, it is important to drink enough (between 1 liter and 1.5 liters of water per day, depending on your physical activity) and not wait until you are dying of thirst to pour yourself a glass or a cup.
The second piece of good news is that certain plants, with draining properties , can also be used to help the body say goodbye to nasty toxins and feel better. This is the case, for example, with blackcurrant, whose leaves are known for their diuretic properties. Used to improve the renal elimination of water, they contribute to the proper functioning of the urinary tract.
Now you understand why blackcurrant is the key ingredient in our Peace Mémé infusion!
Traditionally used to facilitate the body's elimination functions, linden is also an ally for drainage.
Drainage of the liver, gallbladder and urinary tract: linden is on all fronts!
This also explains why it is quite popular in the burrow: it can be found in a trio with mint and verbena or in an organized group in our famous Marmot Infusion recipe.
To benefit from the effects of linden, we recommend drinking it as a herbal tea 3 or 4 times a day (1 liter in total) at room temperature.
It's better to drink small amounts often, rather than giving yourself a tidal wave!
All linden infusionsThanks to its antioxidants and theine it contains, green tea is no stranger to giving your body a boost. By facilitating the elimination of water and toxins through the kidneys, it also contributes to the body's drainage . This is why green tea is often referred to as a slimming aid.
Our favorite is pure green tea . 100% organic, it comes from the oldest tea plants in Asia, in a mountainous region, just like ours!
Before you run yourself a hot bath (or a bath), we just wanted to remind you that consuming our 100% herbal infusions or teas with no added sugars should be accompanied by a varied and balanced diet.
