Our two Marmots prefer the famous pastaga in a soft version. They invite you to the terrace to discover their recipe for alcohol-free pastis. On the menu: freshness and good humor.
While pastis is easily recognized by its aniseed flavor (and its ice cubes!), what we sometimes don't know is that this spirit drink comes from a mixture of plants.
Of course, we find anise, liquorice, fennel, but also some aromatic plants that smell of the garrigue.
On paper, the recipe is not so far from our good old Cocktail Digest !
This is what gave us the idea to offer you a "p'tit jaune" without alcohol and 100% plants just as thirst-quenching as its Provençal cousin.
To revisit one of the French's favorite aperitifs, you will need:
- 1 box of Cocktail Digest infusion, from which you will take 4 to 5 sachets (according to your taste)
- fresh mint
- 1 star anise
- ½ split licorice stick
- ice cubes
As easy to make as the original version, Pastis des 2 Marmottes just requires a bit of patience.
Infuse 4 or 5 bags of our Cocktail Digest infusion in 1 liter of water, and let cool to room temperature.
Add 1 tablespoon of mint leaves, 1 star anise and half a stick of liquorice.
Leave in the refrigerator for 4 hours, add ice cubes when serving and enjoy. Cheers!
Throughout the Mediterranean basin and as far away as the Balkans and the Caucasus, we find other anise-flavored drinks quite similar to Pastis.
You can toast with ouzo in Greece, order a raki in Armenia, treat yourself to a sambuca in Italy or quench your thirst with a glass of anisette in Algeria.
Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Consume in moderation. However, for 100% herbal infusions , you have free rein!
