Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a spice that comes from the inner bark of cinnamon trees native to China and Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon). Cinnamon, you either love it or you hate it! Actually, it's not that simple, it's all a question of quantities and choice of cinnamon.

What are the benefits of cinnamon in infusions?

Cinnamon is said to have stimulating and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chinese cinnamon is rich in coumarin, a substance reputed for its beneficial effect on blood circulation, but it should be consumed in moderation if you have liver complaints.

The sweet flavour can make it a substitute for sugar in some desserts.

What is the cinnamon used in Les 2 Marmottes infusions?

While there are hundreds of varieties of cinnamon, the one we use in our infusions is Madagascar cinnamon.

The subtle and peppery Madagascar cinnamon brings warmth, a woody aspect, and a lingering flavour to our recipes.

It's ideal for a delicious scent in pastries, for example, or paired with its best friend, the apple.

In what recipes do our brewmasters use cinnamon?

Just like ginger, the benefits of cinnamon can be enjoyed in many herbal tea recipes.

Its warmth heats even the coldest of hearts in our Winter Chill infusion or our Mulled Wine Preparation.

It brings indulgence to our Apple&Cinnamon infusion, a job well done by our brewmasters with zero artificial flavours. Full of cinnamon goodness!

A touch of milk will round it off nicely: try our Chai Latte recipe for a moment of peace in the cosy warmth of your burrow.
