According to the lunisolar calendar, the Chinese New Year will fall on January 29 this year. It's a great opportunity to celebrate the arrival of the new year with a nice cup of tea.
It's a time of celebration, sharing, and age-old traditions. Every year, between January 21 and February 19, Chinese people around the world celebrate the New Year.
In 2025, the date is set for January 29th... But there's no question of waiting until D-Day to celebrate the transition to the Year of the Snake (yes, in 2025, it's another failure for the Year of the Groundhog!).
The week before the New Year, the festivities begin with a ceremony dedicated to the "God of the Home," who is asked to erase the family's bad deeds. What follows? A major spring cleaning of the house and the posting of wishes from all family members everywhere.
On New Year's Eve, everyone gathers around the table. Fish, a symbol of abundance, dumplings, lucky charms, duck with eight treasures, New Year's cake, an emblem of success, noodles, longevity: each dish has its own symbolism!
As for gifts, it's customary to offer red envelopes containing New Year's gifts. They are solemnly distributed by the elders, accompanied by a wish for the New Year. And that's just the beginning: the celebrations will last another week...
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, how about an evening with tea as the guest of honor? Discovered by Emperor Shennong in 2700 BC, Chinese green tea also has a centuries-old history.
To discover its exquisite taste, choose a 100% organic green tea like the one selected by our master brewers.
And as tradition dictates, add a wish for the New Year to each cup of tea you enjoy: with its flower evocative of love and temptation, the Fleur'Thé Jasmin des 2 Marmottes already suggests lovely encounters and beautiful romances. For its part, the Menth'Olé Tea will make 2025 a year full of positive energy!
If you're looking for serenity this New Year, then treat yourself to a cup of Yunnan Green Tea . Its full-bodied aroma, long finish, and spirituality might just get you high...
We really have everything you need to help you start this year off on the right foot and take life on the bright side.
Green teasTo make this New Year's Eve truly exceptional and for the magic to happen, we invite you to prepare and enjoy your favorite green tea according to Chinese tradition.
Take a cast iron or terracotta teapot and first heat the water to 100°C. Then "rinse" your green tea, in other words, let it steep for a few seconds and then discard the water.
Heat the water again to 100° then immerse the green tea bags in it.
Wait 3 minutes, remove the tea, serve in small cups, enjoy and above all, appreciate this moment!
It's no coincidence that in China, the tea ceremony is called "Gong Fu Cha": literally, it means "taking time for tea"... Got the message? Enjoy the ritual and happy New Year's Eve!
