Green Tea

It was during a nap that the emperor Shen Nong is said to have discovered tea in 2327 B.C., a light wind having swept tea leaves into his hot water. The brew gave him strength and energy.

What are the benefits of green tea?

Tea consumption first appeared in Asia, and the plant was immediately considered a health food.

Rich in antioxidants and tannins, green tea aids digestion. Light sleepers should not drink it at night because it contains caffeine.

Green tea is also used to facilitate weight loss alongside dietary changes.

What kind of green tea is used in Les 2 Marmottes infusions?

Our brewmasters have unearthed a green tea with a full-bodied aroma and green notes that linger in the mouth: Yunnan green tea.

This 100% organic tea comes from the oldest tea trees in a mountainous region of China.

It's known as the Mocha of teas for its high-quality flavour, and even Surgeon's Tea because it has the power to revive without over-stimulating the nerves.

Green tea and black tea come from the same tree; it's the level of oxidation that distinguishes them.

In which recipes do our brewmasters use green tea?

At Les 2 Marmottes, we don't hold back. We use several different tea varieties in our various brews.

Yunnan Green Tea is a stimulating green tea for connoisseurs, to be drunk in the morning or after a good nap.

Other lighter green teas are used for Back in Shape and our house Mint Green Tea brew. Jasmine Flowers Green Tea is of course the most floral.

Layering the green tea leaves and jasmine flowers for several nights allows their delicate scents to slowly intermingle.

100% natural flavours: at Les 2 Marmottes, we never use artificial flavours in our infusions and teas!
