Marmotta Corsica !

This summer, the marmots are going on a journey... First stop in Corsica, between scrubland, forests, rivers, mountains and fine sandy beaches. Travel diary!

It covers nearly 40% of the Isle of Beauty and grows up to 1,000 meters above sea level. Dense, fragrant, and wild, the Corsican maquis is the ideal playground for beautiful hikes, punctuated by magnificent views of the Mediterranean.

Amidst the thorny bushes, you come across the heady rosemary , the strawberry tree and the famous Corsican thyme with its peppery scent reminiscent of lemongrass. Along more secret paths, you might come across A Nepita, a perennial, endemic and very floral plant whose scent is similar to that of lemon balm , agastache and mint.

PS: Corsica is full of protected species whose picking is prohibited! Let them grow in peace.

To accompany your trip to the Corsican maquis, slip into your backpack:

- A thyme infusion : a great classic that you never tire of. It's the ideal infusion to prepare your respiratory tract before starting a Corsican polyphonic song.

- An infusion / broth It's like the south : start the summer by inviting the scents of the maquis into your bowl. Between thyme, rosemary and oregano, you'll think you're there!

- A 1,2,3… Sleep herbal tea!: to snooze soundly under the starry sky of the Isle of Beauty, don't leave without a few bags of our 1,2,3… Sleep infusion. You can count on its soothing trio of lemon balm, lemon and chamomile.

Nestled between Calvi and Ajaccio, the Calanques de Piana illuminate the landscape. It's no coincidence that this site has been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1983. On the road leading to the calanques, at the entrance to the village of Piana, you'll have the chance to spot huge eucalyptus trees (some reaching over 4m in circumference). Planted over 100 years ago, they go almost unnoticed as the calanques steal the show!

To accompany your getaway to the Porto golf course:

- 7th Heaven Herbal Tea : As hot and flamboyant as the calanques of Piana, this infusion will be a bombshell. Ginger, coriander, lemongrass, eucalyptus, guarana, black pepper: hold on tight, it's going to be a blast!

- After-Party : Did you overindulge in the myrtle liqueur last night? With this mint, organic rosemary, thyme, and eucalyptus herbal tea, you'll instantly forget about last night's adventures.

Ready to attempt the legendary GR Corse? Whether you decide to hike the 180 km of this long-distance hiking trail or simply connect a few stages, you'll have the chance to trek through nature!

Keep your eyes peeled, we challenge you to spot a Serafini rose bush along the way. With its bright red stem and dark green leaves, you won't be able to miss it!

Recipes from Les 2 Marmottes to slip into your backpack:

- Thé Mince Alors?: with this rose green tea, you'll get up on the right side of the bed, even after a night in a mountain hut.

- Tout Schuss : ultra-digestible and thirst-quenching, this mountain herbal tea will help you stay fresh as you climb.

While its limestone cliffs are on every postcard, Bonifacio hides other treasures: an impressive citadel and a Hermitage perched in the mountains, surrounded by century-old olive trees and butterfly lavender .

On the program: contemplation, wonder and… aperitif, in cocktail or mocktail version!

To sip a herbal tea in Bonifacio:

- Peace Mémé: get into the Corsican rhythm with our cool Peace Mémé infusion.

- Fennel : because there's more to life than Pastis, we suggest you try our fresh Fennel infusion for an alcohol-free aperitif on the terrace.

The 2 Marmots have sniffed out some natural pools for you to help you keep your head cool all summer long. We'll start with the clear waters of the Cavu Valley. Carved by torrents, these natural pools are among the treasures of the Alta Rocca, the hinterland of Porto-Vecchio. We'll continue our adventure in Solenzara near the Aiguilles de Bavella, to explore the canyon, pools, and waterfall hidden in this unspoiled valley. We'll continue into the forest with the Aïtone waterfalls, east of Porto. Easy to access, they gracefully sculpt the landscape.

Infusions with your feet in the water:

- Mint duo : this infusion is like a Corsican river, sometimes calm, sometimes raging! Try it cold, in the heart of summer.

- Menth'Olé Tea : sweet mint, peppermint and green tea, expect to shiver!

- Mint-Linden-Verbena : with this trio of characterful plants to be enjoyed hot or cold, freshness is also in the cup

Generous by nature, Corsica is also a land of fruit. There are those that grow on their own like the prickly pear or the myrtle, and those that need a little help like the clementine, the kiwi, the grapefruit, the hazelnut, the almond, the lemon , the grape, the peach, the citron and the nashi (a hybrid of pear and apple). Take a trip to the many summer markets and fill your bag with lovely local fruits! It would be a shame to miss out.

Fruity (but not strong) recipes

- Lemon tea : a little black tea to clear your eyes and lemon for pep... You'll have energy to spare!

- Citrus : If you need a boost, then indulge in this 100% citrus infusion. It works well both hot and cold.

- Fruit medley : when the delicacy of red fruits is invited into the cup, everyone says "Và bé"! ("it's okay" in Corsican)

For a more mountainous holiday, the marmots also recommend their native Alps:

- getaway to Beaufortain

- tower above Annecy

- at the summit of Chablais
